Luau

Invite your friends and family over and have a luau party! A luau is a traditional Hawaiian feast, and is a great way to kick off the summer with a splash!

Decorations
Decorating for a luau can be fun and exciting. Decorate the serving table with a bright, luau pattern. Then add luau centerpieces like shells or candles. Balloons always make a great centerpiece. Hang colored lanterns everywhere, and set up tiki torches around to add a little fire to your party!

Dress
Dressing for a luau is as simple as can be. Hawaiian shirts are an easy way to look the part, and grass skirts will go perfectly with the theme. Make sure everyone gets a lei!

Activities
When the guests arrive you’ll want to have lots of fun activities! Here are some ideas:

• Sand art! Have guests fill plastic tubes with colored sand so they can go home with a beautiful sand sculpture they designed themselves.
• Coconut bowling! Set up a lane where guests can bowl over some soda bottle pins, but the twist is that you have them use a coconut instead of a bowling ball. Can you get a strike?
• Hula dancing! Have a competition to see who can do the best hula dance, or who can keep a hula hoop up for the longest.
• Limbo! A limbo pole game is an exciting activity that is sure to keep your guests laughing. How low can you go?

Food
No luau is complete without the right combination of food! Serve Hawaiian food, like ham, pineapple, coconut, and seafood. You can also serve lots of fresh fruit and melons, guests will love it!
