The flag of Jamaica was adopted in 1962. The flag is divided by a gold saltire, which divides the flag into 4 traingles; the top and bottom are green, the hoist and the fly are black. An interpretation of the flag's colors is the black represents the creativity and strength of the people, the green represent the lush vegetation of the land and the gold saltire represents the sun shining.
