The flag of Korea contains a design from the "taijitu" symbol on a white background. The white represents the cleanliness of the people. The Taegeuk in the center represents the origin of all things in the universe, in the symbol of the yin-yang, positive (red) and negative (blue) in perfect balance in a continuous movement, merging as one. The four trigrams in the corners of the flag traditionally represent the 5 elements: earth, fire, water, wood and metal, but they each have their own meanings.
