The Colorado state flag was adopted in 1911. It consists of 3 horizontal stripes: blue on top and bottom with white in the middle; they represent the sky and the snow-capped mountains. The red "C" circling a golden disk on the hoist side represent the earth, and the golden sunshine the state enjoys.
