The flag of the Bahamas was adopted in 1973. The flag has 3 horizontal stripes: 2 aquamarine stripes on the top and bottom with a gold stripe in the middle. It also contains a black equilateral triangle at the hoist of the flag. The black triangle represents the unity of the people, the 2 aquamarine stripes represent the sea and the gold stripe represents the land.
