The flag of the Commonwealth of Kentucky was adopted in 1918. It contains the Commonwealth's seal on a navy blue background. Below the seal is some Goldenrod, the state flower. The state motto "United we stand, divided we fall" encircles a frontiersman and a statesman centered in a white circle.
