Details

The flag of Mexico's overall design has been used since 1821, but it wad formally adopted in 1968. It contains 3 vertical bands of green, white and red; green being at the hoist, red on the fly. The national coat of arms is centered in the white band. The interpretation for the colors have changed over time, but the colors were adopted by Mexico when the nation won its independence from Spain.
