Who doesn’t like a homemade touch at a party or wedding reception? As a host/hostess you want it to look like you effortlessly put together your event. What better way to add that bit of fun, that easy touch than to have striped paper straws at your next party?

Our new paper straws are FDA approved, biodegradable, compostable, and printed with food safe soy-based ink. • How many layers would you like your tableskirt to have? 1, 2, or 3?                                                                                        three layers (pic 1) one layer(pic 2) 
• What length would you like you layers to be? You can measure the height of your table then divide it by the number of layers you are using or you can just eye it. Remember that your layers will need to over lap a little to avoid gaps in the skirt.
•  Take your table skirts out of the package and cut scallops in to the bottom edge. The scallops pictured are about 6-8 inches wide. TIP: leave the tableskirt folded for less cutting, then cut any stragglers when you unfold the tableskirt. However, the more time you take, the more uniform your skirts will look. I did mine the folded, easy way. (pic 3,4)
• Apply your bottom layer, sticking the first skirt around the legs of the table. If you can't use the table legs, be sure to leave the bottom layers longer so each will show beneath the top layers just apply all layers around the top edge of the table. Repeat until all of your layers are in place (pic5)

Voila! You are ready to add your table cover!!!

The dance party will kick off at 9:00 PM and the Silly String war starts at 11:00 PM sharp! The music will be featured by DJ Marcus Wing, who has entertained crowds of over 6,500 people! The invitation is always the first “hint” of fun that your guests will see, so go with an invite that fits your luau. Don’t forget important information, date, time, place, a map, food or no food, should your guests come dressed for a luau. rsvp? Decide these details before sending out your invites.

To set the mood, start with some authentic Hawaiian or luau music. Who wouldn’t feel like luau-ing ;) with some steel drums playing in the background. Next make sure each guest gets a lei as they enter the luau. Tiki torches are great for lining a walkway. Citronella candles work great too to keep those bugs away. Candles are great for centerpieces too.

If it’s a pool party you want, float some inflatable fish, beach balls, or palm trees in the pool. Floating candles look beautiful in a pool at an evening luau. Don’t forget the hanging lanterns, to add more color to your luau.

A New Favorite

The Presentation Check out this picture and let me know what you think! Sticking with the purple theme, and obviously decorating with Princess and the Frog tableware, we've tried to create a setting that a birthday child would love. I really enjoy the doubled up table cloth, and I think it really gives the entire presentation a nicer feel.

Close Up Shots These two pictures show some closer shots of the table. You'll notice that we used tiaras to give the table more of a princess feel, and we've also laced the table with silver tinsel. Game Idea

Every good birthday party is filled with games, and I'd like to share an idea that has come to me. Sticking with the Princess and the Frog theme, you could purchase a bunch of small, plastic or rubber frogs and write 'Prince' on the stomach of one of them. You then set them out in a line and have your princesses choose one of them. Then, one by one, they kiss the frog and then check to see if they got the prince. If so, then they're the winner! Some of the girls will probably shout out 'gross!' when they realize they didn't get the prince, so it'll spark some laughter.

Make the "kiddie" table extra fun!

Here's a cute little holiday favor idea for your guests to take home.

You will need: nut cups pipe cleaners colored paper or felt candy or nuts to fill your nut cups scissors glue

Make a small hole in your nut cup to stick a 2" pipecleaner thru. The pipecleaner is the turkey’s neck and head so bend it at the top to look like the head.

Next, cut some 3" feathers out of your colored paper to glue to the back of the nut cup -about 4 or 5 depending how wide you make them. Place your candy or nuts inside and Voila! Place them at each place setting for a little pre-dinner treat.
