Invites
Invite your guests to travel back to prehistoric times!
Decor
Before guests arrive, cover your table with a prehistoric tablecloth. Scatter the table with paper dinosaur footprints and dinosaur fruit snacks. Tape lots of dinosaur footprints to the walls and floors as well. Have the loot bags ready to fill and sitting at each prehistoric place setting.
Games and Activites
Designate a "dig area" by filling a plastic pool with sand and marking it with yellow caution tape. Have a dinosaur stand up watching from the nearby grasses and trees. Bury dozens of mini dinosaurs and let the dig begin!
After the kids have found their dinosaurs, have them pick one to tell about. Have them include what kind of dinosaur it is and at least one interesting fact about the dinosaur. Be sure there is a Dinosaur Encyclopedia handy. The kids will love being the center of attention and sharing their knowledge!
Party Eats
For a fun treat, serve mud pies. In a clear cup, put several candy dinosaur bones. Cover with chocolate pudding and crushed Oreo Cookies. Give the kids a zip lock bag with Oreo Cookies inside. Make sure the bags are sealed shut and each child can crush their own Oreos using a rolling pin.
Top the mud pie with gummy worms and dinosaur eggs. Easter malted milk eggs or speckled jelly beans make great dino eggs!
More Fun
As a final activity, hide dinosaur eggs (plastic easter eggs) that are filled with carnival toys and candies. Tell the children your yard has become a dinosaur nesting ground and there are lots of eggs to be found!
Party Favors
Send them home happy with their eggs and dinosaurs in their treat bags! |
