them a wonderful and prosperous New Year! Personalize the
fortunes for exactly what your loved ones need (whether they
know it or not!)
Package the cookies in carryout cartons filled with metallic
shred. The following recipe makes 48 cookies.
1 cup unsalted, melted butter
3/4 cup egg whites
1 2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
3/4 cup finely chopped almonds
48 personalized fortunes on 3"x3/4" strips of paper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the first four ingredients
together well. Stir in the flour and almonds until well blended.
Drop dough by level teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove cookies
from baking sheet. Place 1 fortune in the center of each cookie;
fold cookie in half and pinch sides together to seal. Work
quickly before cookies cool and harden.
