FIESTA PARTY IDEA
Celebrate Mexican style anytime! Or, on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) celebrate Mexico's independence from France.

Decor
Set the table ahead of time with tiny individual sombreros filled with red, green and white M&M's representing the colors in the Mexican flag.

Party Eats
If your party takes place in the winter, serve hot chocolate spiced with cinnamon. In the summer have drinks available "ice cold" in one of our sombreros.

The sombrero can do double duty as a prop when you teach your guests "The Mexican Hat Dance." The last song on Drew's Famous Latin Fiesta CD is the Mexican Hat Dance. Crank it up!

Younger children simply clap and move around the hat while older children and adults can be more creative as they dance around the hat.

A pinata is a must at a Mexican Fiesta. In true Mexican style, keep the pinata moving by moving the rope that the pinata hangs from. The pinata is harder to break this way, and it keeps everyone laughing!

More Eats!
Let guests make their own burritos using tortillas, meat mixture, refried beans, grated cheese, shredded lettuce, cut-up tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole.

Serve this Yummy Fiesta Dip. It's just what it says-YUMMY!

Yummy Fiesta Dip

  • 16 oz. pkg. Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 lb. pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 10 oz. can Rotelle tomatoes

Warm in small crock pot until cheese melts. Or microwave all ingredients on high for 5 minutes until cheese melts. Stir after three minutes.

Serve with corn or tortilla chips.
