Décor
Create a gazebo effect with brightly
colored crepe paper. Hang the
paper from the center of the ceiling,
drape it to the walls and down. To add
to the party atmosphere, hang a
pinata from the center of the room.
Costumes
Dora loves to dress-up and pretend.
Have a large box full of dress-ups like:
neon fedoras, boas, beads, and
scarves for the children to wear at the
party!
Take a group picture with a digital
camera. If you have extra help, print
the pictures during the party and place
them in each child’s favor bag!
Or, let your child be Dora for the
day. Purchase a bright colored back
pack. Have her wear a pink shirt with
orange shorts and fix her hair just like
Dora’s!
When the children arrive at the
party, take each of their pictures with
“Dora”. This will be a great keepsake
for her and again, put one for each
child in their favor bag.
Games and Activities
At cake time, ceremoniously bring out
a cake box. When you open the box - “oh
no!” The box only has a picture of
_______(draw a simple picture of any
household object).
When the children arrive at the
pictured spot, there is no clue! Swiper
has taken it! The children yell “Swiper
no swiping!” and Swiper (a willing
participant) returns the clue. The final
clue leads to the cake which is hidden
somewhere in the decorated party room.
Party Eats
Teach the children to sing “Happy
Birthday” just like Dora! (Sing to the
tune of “Happy Birthday).
Feliz cumpleaños a ti,
Feliz cumpleaños a ti,
Feliz cumpleaños a (child’s name),
Feliz cumpleaños a ti!
More Fun
Finish a great party with a
pinata!
Include Dora lip gloss/bracelets, Dora
whistles, and Dora zipper pulls. Put 1
of each of these items in a Ziploc bag.
One for each child. Fill the rest of the
pinata with candy that the
children can scramble for!
